If you are interested in supporting this ministry and the scholarship effort by transferring stocks to the BWX, it is now an available option. The
Boundary Waters Experience (BWX) is asking for donations to pay for the General Scholarship Fund ($25,000), which allows us to fully scholarship eight groups of people to participate. These scholarships have been given to Latino groups, inner city groups and at risk groups in the past.
Groups are selected to receive General Scholarship funds on the basis
of a demonstrated financial need as well as their expressed motivation
for participating in a BWX. Each of our scholarship groups is unique,
with different backgrounds and different purposes for attending the
Boundary Waters Experience. Some love the outdoors with a passion and
want to explore their commitment to preserving the environment on a
deeper level. Others are looking for a personal and spiritual challenge,
hoping to test their limits and gain a new sense of appreciation for
the power of the Holy Spirit. Still others are looking for a team experience,
working on their ability to connect and work closely with a group in
a Christian community. All of them are committed to the idea of taking
an intelligent look into, growing in, and living in in God's love.
All are deeply motivated and profoundly excited by the potential opportunity
to partake in a wilderness adventure; however, are without the financial
means to participate without a scholarship.
The Boundary Waters Experience (BWX) gears up for the summer season in May.
We have much work on the base camp property near Ely to accomplish in
order to get ready. We are asking for your help! There is work for everyone:
cutting trees, readying boats, cleaning gear, etc.
